Double down on wellness
Quality olive oil is truly liquid gold: not only is it a preferred product for most home and professional chefs to cook with and drizzle on (almost) everything, but it comes loaded with so many health benefits—the phenols in olive oil include antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties. Olive oil is a keystone of the lauded Mediterranean diet, and now it seems CBD is angling to become the keystone of modern wellness.
Many consumers are exploring or are fully committed to daily CBD consumption as part of their wellness regimen. CBD has not been approved by the FDA for use in topical or ingestible products. That said, many consider CBD a superfood with a wide range of benefits. Eventually, peer-reviewed research will determine efficacy, but we’re not there yet.
We got to thinking: why not put these two powerhouse products together, and make a premium, hemp infused CBD olive oil that tastes fantastic? We set out to create a top-tier product that any Michelin-rated chef would deem a premium olive oil and wouldn’t think twice to use, and not something that was “fine for a CBD oil.” Only excellent will do.
Our olive oil offerings
Our bottles contain 125ml of olive oil, and we offer our hemp CBD olive oil in three concentrations.
- 125mg CBD per bottle = 5mg per tsp.
1mg of CBD per 1ml of olive oil
- 500mg CBD per bottle = 20mg per tsp.
4mg of CBD per 1ml of olive oil
- 1250mg CBD per bottle = 50mg per tsp.
10mg of CBD per 1ml of olive oil
How to use
You can use Pot d’Huile like any other quality olive oil. This isn’t supposed to be “a special bottle” you only use for certain meals or occasions. Pot d’Huile is meant to be your daily drizzler: whether you’re using it in your salad dressing, finishing your halibut with it, baking a cake with it, or putting it over your ice cream, this olive oil is ready for action. Just don’t fry with it: you’ll burn off the CBD (it breaks down at 314℉). But brownie-makers, fear not: you can still bake with Pot d’Huile at temperatures above 300℉, since the internal temperature of the baked good is what counts, and most baked goods don’t reach an internal temperature of 300℉.
We have some extra tips for you in the FAQ.
We insist on using full-spectrum CBD, so there are trace amounts of THC in that teaspoon (we want you to enjoy the benefits of those added minor cannabinoids, and it’s believed to help boost the efficacy of the CBD—you can geek out more on the entourage effect in our FAQ). Just so you know, the trace elements of THC may show on a drug test, but none of our CBD products will get you high. Our hemp-derived CBD is within the federally legally allowable amount of below 0.3% THC. So you can take your bottle across state lines (except for Idaho, Nebraska, and South Dakota).
Our infused olive oil is made from USDA-certified organic, single-varietal, first cold-pressed, California extra virgin olive oil. The flavor profile is meant to be neutral, but still have some personality. Think of it as an elegant lady who sometimes swears a little—our oil is smooth, balanced, and aromatic, but there’s some spice and piquantness.
Our premium olive oil
Living in California, we’ve learned a lot over the years about what goes into making quality olive oil—from the soil to sustainable farming practices—but for truly next-level olive oil, you need to work with experts. We’re so grateful to partner with Kathryn Tomajan, one of America’s most renowned and award-winning olive oil makers and tasters. She sources our USDA-certified organic, first cold-pressed, single-varietal, extra virgin olive oil from small family farms in California, and works with us on the formulation to ensure the CBD infusion only adds to the oil’s dynamic and nuanced flavor profile. Since she’s on the California Olive Oil Council’s Board of Directors and currently serves on the California Olive Oil Sensory Panel to taste, grade, and certify extra virgin olive oils, we’re honored to be working with one of the best in the business.
We hold our CBD to the same exacting standards as our olive oil. We source our full-spectrum CBD from hemp grown on a farm that is currently seeking their USDA organic certification. Every lot is tested for mycotoxins, pesticides, heavy metals, and THC compliance, with rigorous third-party testing, and a safe solvent extraction process. With all the shady CBD flooding the international market, we demand transparency, tracking, and testing if we’re going to infuse it into our premium olive oil.
